The challenge
Our client, a small brewery, was struggling to keep up with several systems that did not talk to each other. Record keeping fell behind, and the owner was worried about staying compliant with tax and government filing requirements.
We brought the accounts up to date, which freed him to concentrate on brewing, on promoting the business, and on his family. He is less stressed, has a better quality of life, and the business is thriving.
What we did
Connected Ekos to the accounts
Ekos is the ERP that tracks brewery operations — the flow of materials and inventory against the brewing schedule. We set it up with the brew recipes and connected it to the accounting system, so material orders and distributor sales post across automatically. Operations and accounts stay in step.
Connected Toast to Xero
Toast is the point of sale in the brewpub. Its data imports into Xero daily, so the sales numbers are never more than a day old.
Payroll through Gusto
Payroll runs in Gusto, integrated with Xero.
Payables kept current
We track every bill and update the accounting system daily. Bills are paid weekly as they fall due, and all backup documents are filed in the accounting system.
The result
Our client knows his accounts are up to date and compliant. Excise tax and brewers' reports are now routine. He spends his time on the beer — and sales are up more than 30% on the same period last year.
